Craig Tabbed Co-CAA Pitcher of the Week

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Following an impressive and dominant week on the mound as UNCW went 4-0, red-shirt junior Luke Craig was named Co-Pitcher of the Week by the Coastal Athletic Association.

Craig earned the win against nationally-ranked NC State and then posted saves in each of the Seahawks' first two games of their conference sweep of rival Campbell.

Against NC State, Craig matched a season-high four innings of shutout baseball as UNCW knocked off the Wolfpack in extra innings to complete a sweep. It was UNCW's first sweep of the Wolfpack since 2010 and its first win in Raleigh since 2011.

The lefthander struck out the side and earned a save in the series-opening 8-7 come-from-behind win over Campbell. The Seahawks plated three runs in the bottom of the eighth to erase a 7-5 deficit. The following night, he posted his fifth save of the season with a four-out appearance.

On the week, Craig hurled 6.1 scoreless innings over three appearances. He allowed a hit, walked three and fanned nine.

Craig owns a 4-0 mark and five saves this season while compiling a 2.36 earned run average and has limited opponents to a .181 batting average.

The Seahawks visit Charleston Southern on May 7 before returning to Brooks Field next weekend and hosting Hofstra in a CAA series beginning on May 10 at 6 p.m.
