UNCW Heads To NCAA Athens Regional

The Seahawks will face Georgia Tech at 7 p.m. on Friday

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Two-time reigning Coastal Athletic Association champion UNCW will face Georgia Tech at 7 p.m. on Friday in the second game of the NCAA Athens Regional it was announced on Monday.

The Seahawks (39-19) join the Yellowjackets (31-23), host Georgia (39-15) and Patriot League champion Army (31-21) in the Athens Regional. Georgia is the top-seed in the regional and the seventh overall seed in the 64-team field.

For UNCW, which will be the second seed, it will be its 12th regional appearance overall and the fourth in the last six tournaments.

UNCW last played in Athens during the 2004 season and split a pair of midweek games.

UNCW and Georgia Tech have split four games but haven't played since 1987.
The Seahawks and Army have met once, coming during the 2013 Charlottesville Regional. UNCW knocked off the Black Knights, 9-5, in an elimination game.

*Gates will open one hour prior to first pitch and Foley Field will be cleared between games.

Parking Information
Parking is available in the outfield commuter lot and adjacent parking decks on campus. There is no reserved parking.
