Parks Advances to 400M Hurdles Regional Finals

LEXINGTON, Kentucky – UNCW hurdler Josh Parks has advanced to the regional final round in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles following a 51.21 time in Wednesday's first round of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminaries at the University of Kentucky's Track & Field Complex.

Parks finished 18th overall in the 400M Hurdles and fourth in his heat. The top 24 student-athletes – the three best times from each of the six heats plus the next six fastest times – in the 400M Hurdles advance to the Final Round to be contested on Friday.

The top 12 times in the final round will move onto the NCAA National Championships in Eugene, Ore. from June 5-8.

A 2023 NCAA National Qualifier, Parks also clocked a 13.98 time to finish 31st in the Men's 110 Meter Hurdles.

Sophomore Miles Higgins finished 17th in the Men's Javelin with a 65.18 meter throw while junior Ryan DeBarber recorded a 59.42 meter heave to claim 37th in the same event. The top 12 marks in the Men's Javelin advanced to the NCAA Nationals led by Miami's Devoux Deysel's facility record 76.81m throw

Sophomore Bryson Robinson collected a 6.85 meter mark in the Men's Long Jump for 45th place.

The Seahawks will have two NCAA Regional Qualifiers compete on Thursday in sophomore Jordyn Robbins (Women's Javelin – Flight 2) and fifth-year Courtney Lines (Women's Long Jump – Flight 1).
