Two More Records Fall For Track & Field

DURHAM, N.C. – A pair of broken program records highlighted UNCW's outing at the Duke Invitational this weekend at Morris Williams Stadium.

Setting records was the men's 4x400 Relay of Robbie Wade, Jace Wynn, Justin Bryant, and Lucas Smith, which clocked in with a time of 3:08.78, and freshman Gabrielle Knight in the 200 Meters with a new freshman standard of 24.34 seconds.

The 4x400 took second to NC State, and Knight finished 13th overall and fourth among freshmen in the 200 meters. Her time was also third on UNCW's all-time list.

In the Triple Jump, Ivan Poag placed third with a leap of 50-5 1/2 feet to move into second on the program's all-time list.

In the women's Pole Vault, Carly Gordinier won the B Group with a height of 12-10 3/4 feet, which was good for third all-time.

Bailey Willard was 22nd in the Shot Put with a toss of 42-0 1/2 feet, placing fifth all-time.

The Seahawks next compete at the Charlotte Invitational on Apr. 24-25.
