CHARLOTTE, N.C. – UNCW men's and women's outdoor track and field recorded three individual event wins and multiple top 10 program marks at the Charlotte Invitational.
The men placed sixth overall with 67 points, finishing ahead of seven teams, while the women finished eighth with 30 points.
UNCW posted strong relay performances, highlighted by the women's 4x100-meter relay team of
Brylee Montanari, Kaleigh Hudson, Carmealla Marino and
Gabrielle Knight, which finished fifth in 46.29 to rank No. 10 in program history. The men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Robbie Wade, Jace Wynn, Justin Bryant and
Lucas Smith placed third in 3:10.27, moving to No. 7 all-time.
Miles Higgins led the Seahawks with a win in the javelin (57.80m), ranking ninth in program history.
Ivan Poag captured the triple jump title (14.86m) and moved to No. 7 all-time, while
Cameron Wright won the 110-meter hurdles (14.08) and now ranks No. 5 in program history.
On the women's side,
Isabelle Liu recorded a personal-best 11.47m in the triple jump to place fifth and rank No. 8 all-time. In the hammer throw,
Kendall Ross placed 14th with a mark of 47.60m, ranking No. 10 in program history.

"This meet served as our last regular season opportunity as our final team tune-up before the conference championship, and I wanted us to compete, to continue to take everything that we've learned this season and compete to win. We want to be unshakable when we start to compete under pressure. Proud of the work we've put in, next up Duke as a last chance then on to the CAA championships. We're ready for it."
The Seahawks return to action Sunday, May 3, at the Duke Twilight in Durham, N.C., before competing at the CAA Championships beginning May 15.
