Baseball Preview: Campbell

Longtime rivals meet Friday at 6 p.m.

WILMINGTON, N.C. – While UNCW and Campbell will meet for the 130th time this weekend, it will be the first as a member of the same conference. The Camels joined the Coastal Athletic Association last summer following a stint as a member of the Big South Conference.

The Seahawks (29-16, 14-4) enter the weekend looking to build upon the momentum from last weekend's series win at William & Mary and a mid-week win at nationally-ranked NC State. The Camels (27-26, 8-10), meanwhile, fell at Liberty on Wednesday in the first game of a nine-game road stretch.

UNCW is tied with the College of Charleston for first place in the league, but the Cougars own the tie-breaker following their series win at Brooks Field earlier this season. Campbell is tied with Hofstra for seventh in the standings and is one game behind William & Mary for the final CAA tournament berth.

The series will be on FloBaseball.tv and ESPNWilmington.com (101.7FM/AM630).

The series opens with 6 p.m. starts on both Friday and Saturday before concluding on Sunday with a 2 p.m. first pitch.
