WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Two of the top three teams in the Coastal Athletic Association softball standings clash when UNCW hosts rival Campbell for a three-game set at Boseman Field this weekend.

The third-place Seahawks (24-16, 13-5 CAA), have won seven of eight games to start April. The second-place Fighting Camels (25-17-1, 14-4 CAA) are winners of seven straight, including an upset road win of No. 3 Duke on Apr. 10.

UNCW and Campbell will play its Friday game at 6 p.m. as originally scheduled. The two teams will then play a doubleheader on Saturday at 2 p.m. There will be no Sunday game.

Admission to Boseman Field is free throughout the weekend. All games will be streamed on FloSoftball with live stats available on UNCWStats.com/

Plenty of experience and championship pedigree will be in the circle this weekend. UNCW boasts the CAA's lowest team ERA (2.40). Campbell has an almost equally impressive 2.42 team ERA.

Of the six league hurlers with sub-2.00 ERAs, three are expected to toe the rubber this weekend. The Seahawks will turn to a pair of All-CAA First-Teamers in Kara Hammock and Emily Winstead while Campbell, winners of the last three Big South Championships, counters with the reigning D1 Softball National Pitcher of the Week in Isabella Smith.

Offensively, the teams total a combined seven of the league's top 20 players in batting average. Freshman outfielder Cassidy Relay leads the Seahawks after boasting her average to .385 with a four-hit performance in UNCW's mid-week win vs. East Carolina and the Camels' Lindsay Lumsden with a .370 mark along with three home runs and 20 RBI.

Both programs have plenty at stake with nine league lefts left this season. A top-two seed will earn a bye to the second day of the CAA Championships, hosted by UNCW at Boseman Field in May.
