Seven Seahawks Earn CAA Preseason Honors

UNCW picked second by the league's coaches

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW landed four players on the preseason All-Coastal Athletic Association team and three more earned honorable mention on Wednesday when the conference office released the coaches' preseason team and predicted order of finish for the 2024 season.

The Seahawks, who won both the regular season and conference tournament crowns in 2023, were picked second behind Northeastern with newcomer Campbell, College of Charleston, Elon and Delaware rounding out the top half of the predicted order of finish.

The Huskies garnered eight first-place votes and the Seahawks earned four.

On the preseason All-CAA squad, Jac Croom and Tanner Thach earned spots in the infield while Trevor Marsh and Zane Taylor were honored as an outfielder and starting pitcher, respectively.

Connor Kane (RP), John Newton (DH) and RJ Sales (SP) were named honorable mention.
