UNCW Shutdown In 4-2 Loss At Stony Brook

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook's Hunter Colagrande struck out nine over six innings as Stony Brook topped visiting UNCW, 4-2, on Friday to clinch the conference series at Joe Nathan Field.

The Seawolves clinched their first series win against UNCW while improving to 9-18 overall and 6-8 in the league. UNCW, meanwhile, dropped its fourth straight and slid to 18-12 and 7-4.

After seeing UNCW tie the game with a run in the top of the third, the Seawolves plated three in the bottom of the inning, including two on a two-out double by Nicolas Dromboski to make it 4-1.

Colagrande (1-1) held UNCW to two runs on eight hits and did not walk a batter. Aidan Colagrande nailed down the save with three innings of hitless relief.

Matthew Jackson had two hits for SBU.

Casey Carpenter and Josh Martinez both had two hits for the Seahawks. JP Pennella knocked in both runs for the Seahawks.

Cooper Allen suffered the loss to drop to 5-1.
