Isley Leads UNCW In Spring Opener

JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. – UNCW opened the spring season with an 11th-place finish, one shot outside the top 10, at the Battle at Briar's Creek on Tuesday at the Golf Club at Briar's Creek.

Clemson edged Chattanooga by two strokes for the team title and Lipscomb's Ford Goldasich clipped Braedon Wear by a stroke for medalist honors.

Walker Isley (73-73=146) led the Seahawks at two-over during the 36-hole tournament, which was reduced by 18 holes following the suspension of play Monday. He finished 19th overall.

The Seahawks head to Henderson, Nev., next for the Lake Las Vegas Intercollegiate on Feb. 26-28.
