Men's Golf Inks Two for 2026-27

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's golf program has signed Will Ruth and Noah Yeary to National Letters of Intent for the 2026-27 season.

Highlights: Five-time All-Region and Three-time All-State performer … ranked second-best player in South Carolina … fired a career-low 66 stroke score three times … 2024 Southern Cross Invitational champion with a 72-70=142 scorecard at the Palmetto Golf Club … won the 2024 South Carolina 5A High School State Championship (69-71=140) at the Country Club of Lexington …  2025 5A Division 1 High School State Champion (74-70=144) at Wildewood Country Club … 2025 Blade Junior Classic Champion 69-70-69=208 at Thornblade Club … 2025 Creed Invitational 70-68-71=209 at the Camden Country Club …represented South Carolina in the 2024 Georgia South Carolina Cup Matches, the 2024 Watson Cup Matches against Scotland … also represented Team America in the 2025 Can-Am Matches against Team Canada.

Coach Taylor Says: "Will is bringing a lot of firepower to the team in 2026. He is a proven winner and loves the pressure of competition. His record volumes as a player, but his mental game and approach to every tournament is even more impressive. His will to learn and improve puts him a step ahead of his competition."

Little '41 Award Most Valuable Player … 2025 Winternational Junior Series All-American … 2024 Cardinal Junior Open (72-66=138) Champion … won the 2025 Winternational Event No. 5 at Mid Pines (75-74=149) … shot a 68 to qualify in the Hope Valley Junior Invitational Qualifier at Hope Valley Country Club  … produced a 73-68=141 scorecard at the Johnson Wagner & Friends Hokie Junior at the Virginia Tech River Course.

Coach Taylor Says: "Noah has worked extremely hard this year to rebound after an injury kept him sidelined for some of 2024. The way he bounced back this summer has been remarkable. His mental steadiness is an impressive trait that will translate well to the college golf landscape."
