Logan, Mitchum Post Top-Five Finishes at Oviinbyrd

ONTARIO, Canada – UNCW's John Logan and Gray Mitchum fashioned top-five finishes as the Seahawks men's golf team closed out play at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational at the Oviinbyrd Golf Club from Sept. 14-16.

Logan (73-63-71=207) earned fourth with a nine-under-par 63 second round score for his second top-five finish of the season after winning medalist honors at the season-opening Rod Myers Invitational in early September.

Mitchum followed a six-under-par 66 score in Sunday's first round with two rounds of one-under to finish in a five-way tie for fifth. The All-CAA Second Teamer paced UNCW with 16 birdies.

The Seahawks (280-283-292=855) finished fifth of 11 teams. Notre Dame swept both the team title, 10 strokes ahead of runner-up Michigan, while the Fighting Irish's Calden Sanderson edged Rutgers' Lucas Politano by a single stroke for medalist honors.

UNCW tied for sixth in the field with 54 birdies. Graduate student Mason Weeks recorded an Eagle on Hole No. 9 of Monday's second round.

The Seahawks return to action at the Elon Phoenix Invitational from Oct. 13-14.
