Henderson, Hall Named Preseason All-CAA

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Taylor Henderson and Jania Hall were preseason all-conference honorees the Coastal Athletic Association announced on Friday.

Henderson, a red-shirt sophomore, and Hall, a graduate transfer, were named to the second team and honorable mention squads respectively.

Charleston's Taryn Barbot was the league's Preseason Player of the Year.

Henderson was an All-Rookie selection in 2023-24 after averaging a team-leading 14.6 points per game. She also hauled in six rebounds per outing and doled out 2.4 assists per game. She was a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week and recorded 20 double-digit scoring games.

Hall, meanwhile, was the league's Sixth Player of the Year as a senior at league rival Monmouth. She competed in 32 games and averaged 9.2 points and 2.5 rebounds per game. Hall notched 16 double-digit scoring games, including a career-high 21 in a win at preseason favorite North Carolina A&T.

NC A&T received 11 first-place votes in the coaches' preseason poll and is the pick to win the league title. Drexel is second followed by Towson and Charleston and William & Mary to round out the top five.

The Seahawks enter their second season under the direction of Head Coach Nicole Woods. UNCW's roster includes nine newcomers, including five transfers.

UNCW opens the season with road contests at Virginia Tech (Nov. 4) and North Carolina (Nov. 7) before hosting Clinton College on Nov. 10.
