WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW women's basketball head coach Nicole Woods has announced the promotion of Jake Seidel to director of operations ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Seidel earned the promotion after serving as the program's special assistant to the head coach during the 2025-26 campaign. In that role, he led scouting efforts, designed and distributed a monthly newsletter for program donors, coordinated team travel logistics, and provided day-to-day support to the coaching staff and student-athletes.

"Jake has earned this promotion," Woods said. "He always goes above and beyond and is as selfless as they come. Jake brings versatility to our staff and is a valuable piece of our program. I'm grateful to still have him by my side."

Before joining UNCW, Seidel served as an assistant coach, director of basketball operations and video coordinator at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, during the 2023-24 season.

Seidel also worked at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, where he served as director of basketball operations for the boys' national team. He began his coaching career as a student assistant at his alma mater, Wichita State University, where he spent three years with the program.

As director of operations, Seidel will oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the women's basketball program, including travel coordination, budgeting and team logistics.
