Rico Charges Into Top-10 At Qubein Cup

GREENSBORO, N.C. – James Rico's final round even-par 70 lifted him nine spots and into the top ten to lead UNCW on Tuesday at the Qubein Cup at the Sedgefield Golf Course.

The Seahawks finished eighth overall, a stroke behind Davidson for seventh.

Chattanooga won the tournament by seven strokes over Texas A&M. Michigan, Nebraska and Furman rounded out the top five.

Rico, who finished sixth overall, posted a pair of birdies in his final round, which included 16 pars. He also played par 3's at one-under and to an average of 2.92, ranking third in the tournament field.

Gray Mitchum placed 16th overall for the Seahawks while Preston Worch, who played as an individual, placed 20th.

The Seahawks next compete on Oct. 20-22 at the Williams Cup in Wilmington, N.C. The tournament will be contested at Eagle Point Golf Club.
