Swidzinski Paces Seahawks in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Junior Hunter Swidzinski fired a six-under-par 210 tournament score to earn a share of seventh place as the UNCW men's golf team concluded play at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate on Tuesday at the Grande Dunes Resort Club.

The Seahawks carded a 293-287-286=866 tournament scorecard to finish 10th of 16 teams in the season-opening, three-day event. Host Coastal Carolina claimed the team title, xx strokes ahead of Elon, while UTSA's David Martinez split individual medalist honors with the Chanticleers' Drew Skyes and Jack Lee.

UNCW fashioned 52 birdies led by Swidzinski's 14 one-unders. Junior Ethan Boyette sank an Eagle on Hole No. 13 of Wednesday's final round.

The defending Coastal Athletic Association Champion Seahawks continue their fall season from Sept. 13-15 at the Canadian Collegiate in MacTier, Ontario, Canada.
