Women's Basketball Preview: Campbell

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's basketball team closes out a three-game homestand on Friday night at 7 p.m. vs. Campbell at Trask Coliseum.

GAME COVERAGE
SERIES INFO
The Seahawks have won four of the previous seven games in the all-time series that dates back to 1974. UNCW and Campbell last played in 2021 while the Camels will make their first visit to Trask Coliseum in four years.


LAST TIME OUT
UNCW fell 59-45 vs. Drexel last weekend. Redshirt freshman Taylor Henderson's 16 points were the eighth time the 5-11 guard has led the Seahawks in scoring. Sophomore Mingaile Urmuleviciute scored a career-high 13 points in her third start of the season.

Henderson enters the third conference weekend as one of five players who have averaged at least 18.0 ppg in league play. The Charlotte, N.C., native is also the CAA's second-highest first-year scorer.


SCOUTING THE CAMELS
The Camels split a pair of games at home last weekend with a one-point loss vs. Elon followed by a 69-59 victory against Towson on Sunday.

Senior forward Christabel Ezumah, Campbell's top scorer, scored a season-high 24 points in the win over the Tigers.


NATIONAL GIRLS & WOMEN IN SPORTS DAY CLINIC
To celebrate the 38th anniversary of NGWSD, a free children's sports clinic will be held prior to the women's basketball game vs. Campbell on Friday, Jan. 19.
 
The clinic will be held in Hanover Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 6:50 p.m. and is open to children in first grade through sixth grade. Clinic participants will receive special guidance from coaches and players from the school's women's programs, including women's basketball, beach and indoor volleyball, cross country, women's golf, women's soccer, softball, women's tennis and track and field.
 
To RSVP to the free clinic, parents or guardians should contact Fan Development Coordinator Mason Mullen at mullenm@uncw.edu.
 
Following the clinic, participants and families are invited to attend the women's basketball game at 7 p.m. when the Seahawks take on the Camels at Trask Coliseum. Youth tickets for the game are just $3 using the code: "NGWSD" when purchasing at UNCWSports.com/BuyTickets.
