Women's Basketball Preview: #5 Monmouth

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Seahawks continue their tournament run this afternoon, when they take on fifth-seeded Monmouth at 2:30 p.m.

Thursday's game will be streamed on FloCollege.

Angelina Pelayo lifted the Seahawks to their first tournament win since 2021 when she converted a pair of free throws with two seconds left in regulation for a 51-50 win over Northeastern. Earlier in the final minute of the game, she also knocked down a pair of attempts with 41 seconds left to move UNCW to within 50-49.

Kylah Silver continued her solid play with her fourth double-double of the season with a team-high 14 points and 11 rebounds. Joining her double-digit scoring were Mary Ferrito and Pelayo, both with 10 points.

The Seahawks fell to Monmouth early in the conference schedule, 52-50, in West Long Branch, N.J.
