Women's Soccer Adds Vegoda for 2024

WILMINGTON, North Carolina –The UNCW women's soccer team has added defender Lexi Vegoda to the program ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Vegoda will join the Seahawk program as a graduate transfer after spending the previous four seasons at Binghamton where she made 50 career starts.

"We are excited to welcome a player with Lexi's credentials to the Hawk's Nest," said UNCW Head Coach Chris Neal.  "She is a two-time, First-Team America East All-Conference defender, that displays a great combination of skill, toughness, and athleticism.

"She's also a true left-footed player that will give our team more options on set pieces and run of play services."

The Plainview, N.Y., product appeared in 59 games over the previous four seasons where she was a two-time America East First-Teamer and was named Binghamton's Defensive Most Valuable Player after her junior season.

Vegoda scored four goals, all on penalty kicks, and produced four assists while totaling over 1,300 minutes in 16 games, 13 starts, as a senior.

Vegoda majored in Psychology while at Binghamton and earned America East Commissioner's Honor Roll as well as AD Honor Roll three times.
