Men's Soccer Preview: American

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The 2023 regular season begins for the UNCW men's soccer team on Thursday at 7 p.m. when the Seahawks host American at the UNCW Soccer Stadium.

The Seahawks and Eagles will open the regular season against each other for the second straight season. The former Coastal Athletic Association rivals played to a scoreless draw to open the 2022 campaign in the nation's capital.

Thursday night's game can be streamed on FloFC (subscription required) with Jim Whitmeyer and Tom Parratt on the call. Fans can follow along with live stats on UNCWStats.com.

UNCW was picked third by league coaches in the CAA Preseason Poll. Midfielder Pep Casas was named to the All-CAA Preseason Team while midfielder Colton Pleasants and defender Jake Shannon earned Honorable Mention distinction.

The Seahawks then turn their attention to a road test at ninth-ranked Clemson on Monday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m.
