Women's Volleyball Tom Riordan

UNCW Takes Preseason Test In Sweep

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW swept Anderson (26-24, 25-20, 25-19) in an exhibition match on Friday in its lone tune-up for the 2023 season. 
 
UNCW's Katie Lanz collected a match-high 10 kills while sophomore Hannah Forbes added seven. 
 
The Seahawks out blocked the Trojans, 7-4 with senior Caitlyn Callahan recorded a solo and four assists. 
 
For AU, Jaelyn Grimm finished with nine kills in 16 attacks. 
 
The Seahawks open their season on Aug. 25 against Fordham on the opening day of the UNCW Hampton Inn University Invitational. First serve is set for 6 p.m. Admission for the tournament is free and UNCW's matches will be streamed on FloSports.tv.
