Volleyball Announces Fall Schedule

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Sixteen home matches, including a pair of weekend tournaments, highlight UNCW's volleyball schedule for the upcoming fall announced on Thursday by Head Coach Dottie Hampton.

The Seahawks host the UNCW Hampton Inn University Invitational (Aug. 25-26) and the Hampton Inn and Suites Seahawk Classic in the first three weeks of the season before turning their attention to Colonial Athletic Association play. UNCW opens the season hosting Fordham, Stetson and Presbyterian.

Joining UNCW in the Hampton Inn and Suites Seahawk Classic are Alabama State, East Carolina and Norfolk State.

Non-conference road matches include Northern Illinois, Queens and Davidson at the Davidson Invitational (Sept. 1-2) and Coastal Carolina (Sep.t 12).

CAA play opens with North Carolina A&T (Sept. 16-17). Other home CAA weekend series include Campbell (Sept. 30-Oct. 1), Towson (Oct. 14-15), Delaware (Oct. 28-29) and William & Mary (Nov. 11-12).

Road conference series are Elon (Sept. 23-24), College of Charleston (Oct. 7-8), Hampton (Oct. 21-22) and Stony Brook (Nov. 4-5).

UNCW hosts NCAA Division II Anderson on Aug. 19, in an exhibition match.

Coach Hampton returns four of her top players on the offensive side of the net with graduate student Katie Lanz leading that core. Also returning her presence at the net is junior Caitlyn Callahan.
