Yasalonis Joins Volleyball Staff

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW head volleyball coach Dottie Hampton, who enters her fourth season at the lead, has announced the addition of Jeff Yasalonis as an assistant coach for the 2023 season.

"We are very excited to have Jeff join our staff," said Hampton. "With a combined skill set of analytics and skill breakdown, he will add to our staff and our program. Jeff has been a collegiate coach, club coach, and player, so his experience and knowledge of the game is extensive. As a setter in college, he will bring his expertise to work with our setters and the continued development of our team offense.  Our staff and team are happy to welcome Jeff into the SEAHAWK Family."

Yasalonis comes to the program following two seasons at Cape Fear Community College, where he helped the Sea Devils make back-to-back appearances in the NJCAA Division II national championship tournament. During those two seasons, CFCC fashioned a record of 39-14, including a 22-4 mark in Region 10 play.

"I am excited to be a part of the Seahawk Family here at UNCW," said Yasalonis. "I am passionate about the game of volleyball and being a guiding light for our Student-Athletes. Being able to give back to a game that helped raise me is truly a blessing!"

Prior to CFCC, Yasalonis was an assistant at Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. The Broncs won the 2021 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and made their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1996.

Yasalonis, a native of Yardley, Pa., played collegiately at the University of Mount Olive where he captained the men's volleyball program for three seasons.
