Baseball Preview: at #8 Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – UNCW opens a four-game road stretch Tuesday when it visits nationally-ranked Campbell for a 6 p.m. start at Perry Stadium. The game caps the annual home-and-home series between the two longtime rivals and will be the final game as a non-conference tilt as the Camels will join the CAA this summer.

The Camels (36-10) are ranked as high as eighth nationally in the NCBWA poll and are tied for 11th in the USAToday/Coaches Poll, both announced on Monday. The Seahawks (27-17) are receiving votes in the NCBWA poll entering the final weeks of the regular season.

Red-shirt sophomore Luke Craig will get the start for the Seahawks while Campbell counters with red-shirt junior southpaw, Jake Murray.

UNCW closes out its road schedule for the regular season this weekend with a three-game conference series at preseason favorite the College of Charleston.

The Seahawks, who sit atop the CAA standings, and Northeastern have clinched their berths in the CAA Conference Tournament set for later this month in Mount Pleasant, S.C.
