Arli, Gish Collect CAA Weekly Doubles Honors

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Freshman Eda Arli (Izmir, Turkey) and graduate student Lauren Gish (Mooresville, N.C.) of UNCW have been recognized as the Colonial Athletic Association's Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.
 
The tandem won both of their matches as the Seahawks split a pair of contests vs. Campbell and Charleston last week at the UNCW courts.
 
In a 6-1 victory over the Camels, Arli and Gish trimmed CU's Tamsin Hart and Veronika Prospalova, 6-3. The pair then routed CofC's Slade Coetzee and Halli Trinkle, 6-1, on Saturday.
 
The No. 6 seeded Seahawks open play in the 2023 CAA Women's Tennis Championships late Thursday with a 6 p.m. match vs. No. 11 Hofstra in Williamsburg, Va.
