Women's Tennis Topped By Coastal, 4-3

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW saw its five-match winning streak snapped on Sunday by Coastal Carolina as the Chanticleers edged the Seahawks 4-3 at the UNCW Tennis Complex.

The Seahawks (8-4) won the doubles point as Elif Albayrak and Eda Arli topped CCU's Brunelle Kouam and Francisca Laundes, 7-6, winning 10-8 in the tiebreaker.
Coastal Carolina (11-3) drew even with a win at third singles, but Albayrak posted a 6-1, 6-3 win at number two to restore the one-point lead. For Albayrak, it was her seventh straight win as her record moved to 9-2.

The Chants grabbed their first lead when they earned wins at numbers four and five singles.

CCU clinched the match at number six singles.

Arli closed out the scoring for UNCW with a three-set win at number one singles to move to 10-2 this season at the top spot in the lineup.

UNCW visits Towson on Apr. 3 as it opens a three-match road stretch to close out the regular season.
