Fobes, Khine Tied for Second at St. James

SOUTHPORT, North Carolina – UNCW's Mallory Fobes and Phu Khine are tied for second place, two strokes behind Charleston's Emma Schimpf, following Saturday's second round of the 2023 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Golf Championship at The Reserve Course at St. James Plantation

The Cougars extended their lead to 12 strokes over the second-place Seahawks, who have authored a 296-303=599 36-hole score ahead of the final round on Sunday.

Fobes and Khine, the 2019 CAA medalist, combined for seven birdies in the second round. UNCW has totaled a field-high 26 birdies through the first two days of play.

The third round begins tomorrow, Apr. 16, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
