Faieta Leads Seahawks at Clemson Invitational

SUNSET, South Carolina – UNCW women's golf freshman Alexis Faieta authored a one-under 215 tournament score to earn a share of 12th place at the Clemson Invitational at The Reserve at Lake Keowee on Sunday.

No. 4 Florida edged No. 8 Arkansas by a single stroke for the team title while the Razorbacks' Maria Jose Marin and Vanderbilt's Lynn Lim finished atop the 88-player individual leaderboard.

The Seahawks carded a 286-296-299=881 tournament score to finish tied for ninth in the 16-team field, along with No. 18 Ole Miss.

Faieta, who led the Seahawks with eight birdies, was aided by a two-under 70 second-round score on Saturday.

UNCW resumes its season at the North Carolina Challenge Cup on April 4.
