Seahawks Begin Woods Era on Tuesday

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's basketball team tips off the Nicole Woods era on Tuesday at 6 p.m. vs. the Apprentice School at Trask Coliseum.

Tuesday marks the first meeting between the Seahawks and Builders.


LAST TIME OUT
UNCW dropped an exhibition contest, 51-47, to Mount Olive at home on Oct. 30. Guards Taylor Henderson (14) and Kylah Silver (10) led the Seahawks with a combined 24 points.


SCOUTING THE BUILDERS
The Apprentice School, located in Newport News, Va., is a full member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association and competes in the Eastern Metro Athletic Conference.

The Builders went 15-8 last season in their first year under Head Coach Courtney Collins. Apprentice earned a spot in the USCAA Division I Small College National Championships where they lost in the Quarterfinals.

The Seahawks represent the first Division I opponent in the history of the Apprentice women's basketball program.

UNCW travels to Wofford for its first road contest of 2023-24 on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. in Spartanburg, S.C.
