Knisely, Duracinsky Lead UNCW At Gamecock Invitational

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Brooke Knisely in the 500 Freestyle and Jacob Duracinsky, a junior, in the 200 IM paced UNCW on the opening day of the Gamecock Invitational on Wednesday at the Carolina Natatorium.

Knisely, who finished ninth in the 500 Free, led a quintet of Seahawks who posted times under 5:00 by going 4:54.27. Joining her were Sam Dugan (4:59.00), who placed 10th in the Championship final, Karsen Pena (4:56.40), Peyton Wilson (4:58.30), Emerson Dalton (4:59.73) in the B final and Sophia Landeryou (4:58.95) in the C final.

Duracinsky, took third in the 200 IM with a time of 1:49.52 and William Carrico was fourth at 1:49.71. Joining them with a time under 1:50 was Will Goldey with a mark of 1:49.84.

Cameron Snowden finished sixth in the championship final of the 50 Free, touching the wall in a time of 23.43.

In the men's 50 Free, Noah Sipowski took eighth with a time of 20.39 seconds.

UNCW's relay of Snowden, Emily Waite, Cassidy Lima and Lauren Hinton fashioned a time of 1:32.56 to finish third in the 200 Free Relay.

The second day of the meet begins at 10 a.m. with the preliminaries followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
