Carrico Earns CAA Swimming Honors

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW senior William Carrico continued his winning ways in a combined dual meet victory against Virginia and was named Coastal Athletic Association Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.

Carrico, who earned the same honors earlier this season, won three individual events and helped the 200 Medley Relay open the Virginia meet with a win.

In the 100 Back, he led the field with a time of 48.56 seconds, which is the second fastest in the conference this season; he had already posted the fastest time earlier this season. In winning the 200 Breast, Carrico posted a winning time of 2:00.04, ranking second on the CAA times list. In his final win of the meet, he touched the wall in a time of 1:46.99, which is nearly three full seconds faster than the second-best time this season.

The Seahawks resume their homestand with nationally ranked NC State and the Seahawk Diving Invitational on Oct. 23 at 5 p.m.
