Volleyhawks Fall In Sweep At CofC

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Katie Lanz posted a double-double and Jadyn Barry collected 19 digs, but UNCW dropped a 3-0 decision at the College of Charleston in Coastal Athletic Association volleyball action on Sunday at TD Arena.

The Cougars capped off a weekend sweep of the Seahawks to improve to 4-4 in the league and 7-12 overall. UNCW (8-10, 5-3 CAA), meanwhile, has dropped its last three after opening the CAA season with five straight wins.

For Lanz, it was her third double-double of the campaign, finishing with 11 kills and 13 digs. Barry recorded 19 digs for the second straight match and now has double-digit digs in each of her last 10 outings. She's averaging 5.03 digs per set in conference play.

CofC's Morgan Cobb matched Lanz for match-high honors with 11 kills. She hit .417 with just one hitting error on the afternoon.

The Cougars hit .242 on the match, committing just 13 hitting errors in 128 swings.

The Seahawks host defending conference champion Towson on Oct. 14-15 at Hanover Hall.
