Volleyball Drops Series Opener To Towson

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW freshman A'siya Magazine posted a career-high nine kills, but the Seahawks couldn't overcome conference-leading Towson on Saturday in a four-set Coastal Athletic Association loss (25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-21) at Hanover Hall.

Towson continues to sit atop of the conference standings at 7-2 and is now 14-5 overall. The Seahawks, who have dropped their last four outings, slipped to 8-11 on the season and 5-4 in the CAA.

Towson's Nina Cajic, who completed a double-double with 13 digs, hit an astounding .600 on the match with 18 kills in 30 attacks and she did not commit an error. Setter Sarah Jordan doled out 50 assists and crafted her own double-double with 10 digs.

The Tigers hit .314 on the afternoon.

Sarah Thompson paced UNCW with 11 kills and rounded out her first career double-double with 10 digs.

Jadyn Barry, a Seahawk senior, held match-high honors with 17 digs.

The weekend series concludes on Sunday with first-serve slated for 2 p.m.
