WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Colonial Athletic Association play opens for the UNCW men's soccer team at new-league member Monmouth on Saturday afternoon at Hesse Field on The Great Lawn.

The contest kicks off at 1 p.m. and will be live streamed on FloFC. Live stats will be available at UNCWStats.com.

The Seahawks (0-1-1) enter looking to bounce back from a 2-0 defeat at UNCG last Sunday. The Hawks (2-0) are riding high after following up a season-opening upset of then-No. 25 St. John's with a 2-0 road victory at Howard.

The Spartans used a goal in each half to down UNCW, who opened the season with a scoreless draw at American. Seniors Bachir Ndiaye and Cannon Tootle each have three shots on the young season while Gabriel Perrotta has eight saves.

Monmouth has also been led by senior starters Luke McBeth and Ben Zakowski, whom each has a goal. Hawks' goalkeeper Eryk Dymora has authored two straight shutouts to begin his college career.

SERIES HISTORY | Saturday will only be the second time the schools have faced each other. The first meeting took place on Oct. 8, 1997, a 4-1 Monmouth win in West Long Branch, N.J.

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY | The Seahawks play the Hawks in their first conference game as a full CAA member. Monmouth is the first of two new league schools the Seahawks will battle this year, with the other being Stony Brook on Oct. 22.

MOVING UP | Perrotta moved into ninth all-time in goalie minutes played after starting and playing every minute of this season's first two games.

MEETING OF THE MINDS | There are 389 career wins between UNCW Head Coach Aidan Heaney and Monmouth bench boss Robert McCourt. The pair have 43 combined years of head coaching experience and 10 berths to the NCAA Tournament.
