HIGH POINT, North Carolina - High Point's Alex Abril scored the game's lone goal in the 41st minute as the Panthers spoiled UNCW's preseason opener, 1-0, in men's soccer action on Saturday night at Vert Stadium.

The teams played three 30-minute periods with eight-minute breaks in between each. After playing even in the first period, Abril found the back of the net with an assist from senior Tony Pineda to put the Panthers on top with 19 minutes to go in the second frame.

The Seahawks continue the exhibition season at home on Tuesday, Aug. 16, versus Mercer. Kick-off from UNCW Soccer Stadium is slated for 6 p.m.
