Isley Sets Career-Low Tournament Score

CHANDLER, Ariz. – UNCW sophomore Walker Isley continued his stellar play carding a final round 69 and finishing with a career-low tournament score of 209 to lead the Seahawks at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at the Whirlwind Golf Course on Tuesday.

The Seahawks finished 13th overall in a 25-team field as they head into the final weeks of the season.

Isley, who also recorded a career-low round of five-under-par 72 in the middle round, finished tied for 15th at seven-under and placed ahead of two nationally-ranked golfers. He played par 3's to an average of 2.83 strokes per hole.

Patrick Sparks tied his career-low round in the middle round with a three-under-69. He finished tied for 51st.

Team champion San Diego State broke their own tournament record by shooting an 825 (-39).  The Aztecs set the tournament record a year go by shooting 831 (-33).  The 2022 individual medalist is Isaac Rodea of Long Beach State.  Rodea's 203 (-13) total fell just one stroke shy of the individual tournament record of 202 (-14) set in 2021 by Barclay Brown of Stanford.

The Seahawks next compete Apr. 11-12 in the Wofford Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C.
