Box Score BOILING SPRINGS, North Carolina – UNCW remained unbeaten in eight matches against state foe Gardner-Webb following a narrow 4-3 victory over the Bulldogs on Sunday at the Webb Tennis Complex.
 
The Seahawks snapped a two-match losing streak to improve to 10-8 on the season. The Bulldogs stand 11-10 after falling in their home finale.
 
UNCW, playing for the first time in a week, won the doubles point and split the six singles matches against GWU, raising its record to 2-1 against state opponents this spring.
 
The No. 3 doubles team of freshman Daniel Ozernoy and sophomore Gabe Hurtado clinched the early point by defeating GWU's Numa Lemieux-Monette /Eduardo Dias, 6-3. It marked the 10^th time this season that the Seahawks have won the early point.
 
The match then went back and forth until Hurtado clinched the match for the fourth time with a hard-earned 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 victory against Bulldog senior Sebastian Harris at No. 4 singles.
 
The Seahawks conclude a three-match road swing on Saturday, Apr. 9, with a noon match at CAA rival Charleston before wrapping up the season at home on Friday, Apr. 15, vs. South Carolina State in a 1:30 p.m. first toss.
