Seahawks Travel To Triad For Matches

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW women's tennis team shoots up to the Triad this weekend for a pair of matches against state foes Elon and UNC Greensboro.

The Seahawks, 9-3 overall and 1-1 in Colonial Athletic Association action, are coming off a 6-1 conquest of conference rival Towson and will be looking to gain some momentum for the stretch run of the spring season.

UNCW and Elon (9-6) go head-to-head in a CAA match on Saturday (Mar. 26) at 10 a.m., followed by a Sunday (Mar. 27) match against the Spartans (2-10) at noon.

Coach Hans Olsen and his squad have only six dates left in the regular season before the CAA Women's Tennis Championships take place on April 28-May 1, 2022, at Elon's Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
"Tennis can be a very physical sport," said Olsen. "We expect a physical match with Elon on Saturday. A conference match is always really exciting. UNCG is also a good team and we will need to be ready to compete."
