T&F Program Stages Invitational On Saturday

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – With inclement weather moving into southeastern North Carolina this weekend, the UNCW men's and women's track and field teams are hustling to stage their second outdoor meet with the running of the Seahawk Invitational on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at the Harold Greene Track & Field Complex.

The Seahawks are making their second appearance of the outdoor season after conducting the UNCW Invitational last weekend.

Teams competing include UNCW, Barton, Campbell, Francis Marion, Meredith, N.C. Central, N.C. Wesleyan, Roanoke, St. Andrews and William Peace.

"We're looking forward to an exciting weekend," said Jeff Klaves, UNCW's third-year head coach. "It's going to be challenging with the weather forecast, but we're determined to conduct a top-notch meet. Our student-athletes have worked hard to prepare for the meet, so they're excited to perform.'

Due to a challenging weather forecast, the meet will be altered. The Women's Hammer Throw is set to begin at 10 a.m., but a rolling schedule will be implemented moving forward. For the throws events, each competitor will have three attempts each per event, with no finals.

The running events begin with the Women's 4x100 Meter Relay at noon and conclude with the Men's 4x400 Meter Relay.

Admission is free. Parking is available in the Hamilton Lot adjacent to the complex.
