Seahawks Tee Off Spring Slate At UCF Challenge

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – Coach Cindy Ho and the UNCW women's golf team resume their 2021-22 schedule by competing at the UCF Challenge at the Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla.

The Seahawks join 17 other teams in the field to compete in the tournament, which will be a 54-hole event on a par 72, 6,349-yard layout. One round, which will feature an 8:45 a.m. shotgun start, will be played each day starting on Sunday, Feb. 6.

The Seahawks will be returning to the course for the first time since The Landfall Tradition in October. Senior Phu Khine topped UNCW during its four fall events by posting a 74.00 scoring average while junior Mallory Fobes followed with a 74.08 mark.

UNCW returns to the UCF Challenge for the third time in four years. Last year, Fobes led the Seahawks by finishing in a tie for 35^th place while Khine notched the first hole-in-one of her college career. The Seahawks finished in 17^th place.

The UCF Challenge marks the first of six tournaments for the Seahawks during the spring portion of their schedule.
