Seahawks Add New Tennis Recruit For 2023-24

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's tennis team continues to stock its roster for next season, adding Jordi Domenach from Almunecar, Spain, to a National Letter of Intent for the 2023-24 campaign.
 
Domenach, a 5-10, 165-pound southpaw, was a semifinalist at the Spanish Junior Nationals U-16s and qualified for the main draw of a pair of ITF Men's Futures Events. He has an ITF ranking of 1,212 and career-high UTR rating of 12.25.

 "Jordi has been one of the top juniors in Spain his entire Junior career, winning one national championship," said Mait Dubois, UNCW's successful 16-year head coach. "He is playing a full schedule of Men's ITF Futures and has enjoyed early success at 17 years old.  It's an impressive accomplishment and excellent preparation for him before he joins us next year. 

"Throughout the recruiting process, many people spoke of Jordi's work ethic and commitment to reaching his potential. He will be a strong addition and has the character we look for in recruiting student-athletes."

The Seahawks begin their spring season on Jan. 15 with a match against Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
