Seahawks Split Doubles Action At UR

RICHMOND, Virginia – The UNCW women's tennis team went 4-4 in doubles play on the opening day of the University of Richmond Invitational on Saturday at the Westhampton Tennis Complex.
 
Kicking off a busy fall schedule by participating in the first of five early-season tournaments, the Seahawks split eight doubles matches. The two teams will compete in singles on Sunday, beginning at 9 a.m.
 
Newcomer Lauren Gish, a graduate transfer from Vanderbilt, led the way with three victories in as many matches against the Spiders.
 
The spring slate for Olsen's team features 16 dual matches, including nine at home. The Seahawks open their spring ledger on Saturday, Feb. 5, when Presbyterian visits the UNCW Courts for a 1 p.m. clash.
 
UNCW's 2021-22 roster features 11 players – four graduate students, five juniors, one sophomore and one freshmen.
