Men's Golf Releases 2021-22 Schedule

The Seahawks will play a pair of tournaments in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. – UNCW fifth-year head coach Daniel Bowden has released one of the most impressive schedules in the program's history for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

"I am excited about the opportunities ahead of us this season and am grateful to my fellow coaches for extending us invitations to some of the top events in college golf," said Bowden. "The addition to the Duke and North Carolina events and a return to NC State will make this fall very special. The spring will be nationally competitive as well with a return to Auburn and the addition of events hosted by Florida and Wyoming. Our players will have the incredible opportunity to compete in three ACC and a pair of SEC hosted events during the regular season."

Of their nine scheduled tournaments, UNCW will tee it up at the sixth-ranked and 17th-ranked course in North Carolina and a top-20 course in South Carolina, as ranked by Golf Digest. The Country Club of Landfall, UNCW's home course and site of the Seahawk Intercollegiate, was ranked 32nd in the state by the North Carolina Golf Panel.

The slate includes a pair of tournaments in Wilmington, including the Eagle Point Invitational (Eagle Point Golf Club) and the Seahawk Intercollegiate (CC of Landfall).

The Seahawks open the fall at the Rod Myers Intercollegiate, hosted by Duke at the Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club, on September 11. It will be the program's first appearance in the tournament since 2015.

UNCW visits Raleigh for the Wolfpack Intercollegiate in the fall while also playing in the Battle at Briars Creek (John's Island, S.C.) and the J.T. Poston Invitational, hosted by Western Carolina at the Country Club of Sapphire Valley.

UNCW jumps back into the fire with a pair of tournaments hosted by SEC schools to open the spring. First up is the Florida Gator Invitational (Feb. 12-13) and the Auburn Intercollegiate will be held early in March.

The Seahawks make their first appearance in the Forest Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by Richmond, the second weekend of March in Pinehurst, N.C.

UNCW's final tune-up for the Colonial Athletic Association Championships will be the Wyoming Cowboy Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz., in early April.

Defending CAA champion, the College of Charleston will host the three-day championship at the Dataw Island Club in Beaufort, S.C.
