Freshman
Kayla Burroughs made an immediate impact in her first appearance with the Seahawks on Monday, giving UNCW a 1-0 lead in the fourth minute with an unassisted marker. The Asheboro, N.C., product scored after forcing a turnover and making a long run before her shot inside the near post.
Series Business
UNCW and East Carolina are meeting for the first time in exhibition play, but the two squads have faced each other quite frequently during the regular season. The Pirates hold a 14-7-2 lead in the all-time series, but UNCW has fashioned a 2-1-1 record in the last four installments.
