FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
History Lesson
UNCW finished the 2021 spring season with a 5-3-2 record and reached the semifinal round of the Colonial Athletic Association Championship. Duke, meanwhile, authored a 4-10-3 record during the 2020-21 campaign, including a 4-6-1 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
Near Perfect 10
UNCW has fashioned an 8-0-2 record in its last 10 exhibition contests, including four consecutive victories. The Seahawks' last loss in an exhibition game came against NC State on Aug. 17, 2014, with a 1-0 setback.
Series Business
UNCW and Duke, separated by just 156 miles, have faced each other twice in exhibition play with the teams splitting a pair of verdicts. UNCW posted a 2-1 victory in the last exhibition installment on Aug. 20, 2019, in Wilmington. Duke leads the all-time regular season series by a 15-9-2 count, but UNCW is 4-0-1 in the last five outings.

UNCW received votes in the United Soccer Coaches Division I Preseason Poll, which was unveiled last week. The Seahawks were ranked as high as No. 9 in the 2021 spring rankings, tying a program record.
Home Sweet Home
Since the start of the 2017 season, the Seahawks have been stellar during the regular season on their home field with a 21-5-3 record. UNCW won all four of its home games during the 2021 spring season.
