William & Mary Defeats UNCW In CAA's

WILLIAMSBURG, Virginia – No. 3-seeded William & Mary eliminated No. 6 UNCW, 4-0, in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Colonial Athletic Association Women's Tennis Championships late Friday at W&M's Millie West Tennis Facility.
 
The Tribe, 6-8, took the first step toward capturing their 27th title in the 36-year history of the tournament. Since the current head-to-head format began in 1995, W&M stands 62-8 in the CAA Championships.
 
W&M, the No. 3 seed for the third time and first since 2014, won the first two doubles pairings off the court and then added three singles victories for the shutout.
 
The Seahawks, who won the title in 2014, ended their season at 9-9, but won four of its last six matches of the season.
