Seahawk Pair Advances To Doubles Final

WILMINGTON, North Carolina – The UNCW men's tennis doubles tandem of Davide Innocenti and Bekhzod Rasamatov advanced to the championship of the B Draw at the Bulldog Invitational on Saturday at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

The pair defeated Georgia's Mathis Debru and Auburn's Spencer Gray, 8-7 (4), in a nailbiter to reach Sunday's final. Overall, the Seahawks went 10-4 in matches on the second day of the tournament, including a perfect 3-0 in doubles.

In singles, freshman Trey Mallory of UNCW moved into the singles finals of the C Bracket with a pair of wins on Saturday. He defeated Furman's James Roelofse, 6-4, 6-4, and topped Debru, 7-6 (4), 6-2.

The tournament features players from UNCW, Auburn, Furman, Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Miami, South Carolina, UNC Charlotte, Ole Miss, Tennessee Vanderbilt.
