KANSAS CITY, Mo. – UNCW fifth-year senior forward
Audrey Harding has been named NCAA Division I Women's College Player of the Week by the United Soccer Coaches after powering the Seahawks to a pair of key conference victories at Drexel and James Madison.
It is the fourth honor Harding has received following her seven-point effort last week. After earning her third Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week award of the season on Monday, she added College Soccer News National Player of the Week plaudits to her collection.
Harding was also an honorable mention pick for the Top Drawer Soccer Women's Team of the Week for the second time this season.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Harding scored two goals and added three assists in the two wins. In the 3-2 come-from-behind victory at Drexel on Thursday, she registered an assist on a goal by redshirt senior midfielder
Morgan Nanni in the 30th minute before netting the game-winner with 1:17 left in the first overtime period.
Harding was also instrumental in the 3-1 decision at James Madison on Sunday after factoring in all three goals. She earned an assist on each of the first two markers before upping the advantage to 3-0 in the 28th minute with her team-leading seventh goal of the year.
The team's leading scorer with 20 points, Harding has racked up three goals and three assists in the last three games. She is now tied for seventh in program history with 22 career goals and her 63 points are good for seventh on the career list. In addition, Harding's 19 career assists are just one shy of the program record held by
