Hackett Continues Strong Play At Wolfpack Intercollegiate

RALEIGH, N.C. – Drew Hackett finished two-under-par for the tournament following a final-round 69 to finish tied for 13th and lead the UNCW men's golf team on Sunday at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate.

Host NC State overcame a 10-stroke deficit after two rounds to win the event. The Wolfpack topped UNCG by 15 strokes in the third round to earn a five-stroke win.

UNCG's Nick Lyerly earned medalist honors with a two-stroke victory of East Carolina's AJ Bechtold.

Hackett's best round came in the third round as he converted six birdies to climb 23 spots on the leader board. Over his last two tournaments, Hackett has posted four rounds of par-or-better scores with two rounds in the 60's.

The Seahawks carded a four-over-par score in the third round to jump up three spots in the final leader board into 10th, one stroke ahead of Cincinnati.

The Seahawks close out their fall schedule on Oct. 25-26 at the Williams Cup presented by Stitch. The tournament, hosted by North Carolina, will be played locally in Wilmington at Eagle Point Golf Club.
