Mallory Wins Bracket In Bulldog Invitational

ATHENS, Georgia – Freshman Trey Mallory of UNCW reeled off four singles victories to capture the Black Draw singles championship early Sunday at the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Georgia at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

The newcomer from South Hampton, Bermuda, delivered a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 come-from-behind victory over Miami junior Juan Martin Jalif in Sunday's title match to cap an outstanding weekend in Georgia.

In the finals of the Red Doubles Draw, the Ole Miss team of Jakob Cadonau and Lukas Engelhardt trimmed UNCW's Davide Innocenti and Bekhzod Rasamatov, 8-6.

Fresno State transfer Reece Faulk of UNCW also rallied past Miami's Franco Aubone, 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4) in a consolation final while Innocenti tripped up Dartmouth sophomore Andrew Ilie, 6-3, 6-3.

The Seahawks return to the courts on Oct. 22-28, 2021, when they compete in the ITA Regionals in Cary, N.C.
